Role of Iron in the Plant:

  • Required for formation of chlorophyll
  • Activator for respiration, photosynthesis and symbiotic nitrogen fixation
  • Vital part of oxygen carrying systems
  • Tied up in high pH soils

Signs of Iron Deficiency

  • Interveinal chlorosis of young foliage (veins remain green), but in severe cases, the leaf is white (void of chlorophyll)
  • Twig dieback
  • Stunted growth
  • Deficiency first appears in young growth
  • Deficiency is most common in alkaline soils and in soils high in phosphorus and calcium

Methods of Application

CarboIron can be applied as a foliar treatment in a regular spray program or as a corrective spray. It is suitable for ground or aerial spraying.
