Role of Potassium in the Plant:

• Essential for enzyme activation
• Helps regulate sugar levels and flavour
• Improves drought resistance and stress tolerance
• Increases resistance to disease
• Controls stomatal openings and influences transpirational activity

Signs of Potassium Deficiency

• Tip and marginal leaf scorch
• Reduction in fruit size and shriveled seed
• Retarded growth
• Chlorosis throughout the leaf; premature leaf drop
• Tendency for lodging – weak stalks (cereals and corn)
